ICNEM '16 - LAKE TAHOE, USA
The 21st annual International Conference on Nonlinear Elasticity in Materials (ICNEM) will be held at Northstar Resort on the edge of Lake Tahoe from July 10-16, 2016. Lake Tahoe (Wikipedia / Vimeo) is situated in the Sierra Nevada mountains on the border of California and Nevada, and is the largest mountain lake in the United States. We hope that you can all join us for another exciting conference this summer.
Registration / Reservations / Abstracts
Conference Registration - The $500 conference registration should be paid by May 23rd via our PayPal Registration Page. The conference registration fee increases substantially after May 23rd. All attendees and guests must register for the conference and make reservations with the resort prior to the conference.
Financial assistance may be available for students and post-docs. Contact Winona Ortiz to be considered for assistance.
Northstar Resort Reservations - Reserve your lodging now. The ICNEM ’16 Northstar reservation link is available. You also may call 1.800.GONORTH and use group code is CC1LIN, referencing the ICNEM ‘16 Conference. That code will allow you to obtain the negotiated discounted room rate. Summer events at Tahoe will fill the normal rooms. Northstar then will begin to use our unclaimed space.
Larger rooms are available, but due to high demand, these discounts are smaller that what we would like.
Due to limited availability of the hotel style and studio condo rooms, Northstar has made available 1-bedroom and loft-style condos at the same $135/night rate. Larger accommodations now are available at reduced rates. Two-bedroom condos are now $199/night and 3-bedroom condos are $249/night. If you had difficulty booking the specific meeting dates or getting a discounted rate for the conference please contact Northstar directly to change your reservation.
Sharing a Room - For those looking to share a room, contact TJ directly.
Room Types - Studios have a kitchen and seating area and only one queen or double bed. Some studios have pull-out sofa beds as well, but there is no guarantee of getting that and no way to request this feature. Hotel style rooms have 2 queen beds but lack the additional seating and kitchen.
Abstracts - Abstracts are due by midnight, May 23rd and must utilize our template, available both as a PDF and DOCX. Send abstracts to Winona Ortiz and copy TJ on your submission.
